Support and Training for Parents

Introduction to Network

An important part of the work of Carlow County Childcare Committee is to support parents and provide them with up to date information and support regarding various topics relating to their children e.g. choosing childcare, Behaviour management and child development.  As a result we have has recently established two parents’ networks.

What are parent networks?

Parents Networks are opportunities for parents in Carlow to meet up and gain information and support from each other and guest speakers.

Parents also have the opportunity to let Carlow County Childcare Committee know what topics they would like covered at information events for parents.

We are currently supporting the development of two Parent’s Networks, they are:

 - Parents Network

 - Parents of Children with Special Needs Network

Each network meet quarterly.

Parent’s Network

The parent’s network meets four times per year and is an opportunity for parents to come together and attend a talk or information session.  There is also an opportunity at each meeting for parents to chat to each other and share ideas and information over a cup of coffee.
